Autumnal Colours

Apologies for my blog slackness. The aloes in our garden are a magnificent display of orange at the moment and I absolutely had to do a post about them. They really are flaunting it. Not quite sure which exact aloes these little babies are – but they sure are beautiful…

  1. hey sons, they really are beautiful and the insects and sunbirds must be loving it. this is a great time of year in the garden as a lot of plants start to flower.

not sure what aloe this is – what does the actual plant look like?

  2. and that vivid colour looks especially good against the dark wall. are those not what is called red hot pokers?

  3. Definitely not red hot pokers Em, well not as I know them – have planted some of those and they aren’t succulents. I did see a sunbird the other day swooping down amongst the orange flowers – I was so excited.
