I was hoping to post something ghoulish or freaky (and nature-related) π for Friday the thirteenth.
Instead, here are some pictures of the swallows at Mount Moreland at sunset. I suppose as the sun sets and the sky turns into a black, circling mass, it can feel quite eerie. π If you haven’t yet experienced the roosting of the swallows, you’ll have to wait until later this year when they return from Europe.Β It is definitely worth it.
lovely pictures. I thought you may be interested to know that Friday the 13th is a day related to Freya (the goddess) and only through propoganda by the church is it now seen as an unlucky day. Knights Templar where killed on that date apart from other things. Freya was seen as a powerful and kind goddess who taught Odin (the all father) and Friday the 13th was the day she bestoded luck and kindness…I think the birds work in this regard:)
i didn’t know that, sinead! cool! π
