I picked up this succulent from Evita Bezuidenhout’s house in Darling. It was growing in a pot outside the theatre and I broke off a small piece, as big as a five rand coin. Over the past year or so it has grown into this many stranded, unusual plant. It has flowered once (yellow and fluffy) but I have no idea what it is. Anyone seen it before?
it looks like it does’t know what it wants to be when it grows up. the leaves znd the stems aren’t even talking the same language. but either way, it’s a darling!
yeah, it is a bit of a schizophrenic plant.
the flowers are also very unexpected. more dandelion than anything …
Niall, you are a thief – stealing from Evita! tsk
I’m sure she doesn’t mind sons ..
Looks like Senecio articulatus ” sausage plant”
The leaves often have a touch of pink.Lovely in a pot
yes, think you right Jenny. Here is a photograph of the flowers on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/63276845@N00/4082792722/
Agree with JennyE – also maybe called a ‘Hot Dog cactus’. Definately indigenous to SA.
