I bought this tansy plant a while back, on a whim. It has thrived and I’m now wondering what to do with it. My boyfriend had read that you can make a tansy and apply pie, but also read that you must be very careful with the amount you use as it can make you sick!
Anyone have a tansy plant? Know any uses for it?

hi tansy is a great insect repellant, also good for skin irritations and scabies, also treats fevers and tonics. it is a good compost plant. rich in potassium. grow around fruit and nut trees. use sparingly as it is very strong and can be toxic.
tjeers!
and as a green dye from the roots apparently. make a tea for lice remedy, it is a companion for raspberries, and great to put on the compost heap.
This from my Margaret Robert’s books, she’s a great source of local information about plants…
