Bird park in danger

The Hout Bay Wildlife Sanctuary World of Birds is on the verge of closing its doors. The facility is the largest bird park in Africa and has been welcoming visitors for nearly four decades. However, financial constraints may force management to shut its doors.

World of Birds spokesperson, Walter Mengold, said over the years they became more than a park, but a sanctuary for stray and injured animals. “The people brought us at times up to 200 birds and animals in need of help every month. Second they brought baby birds that people found next to the road,” he said. You can support them here.

That is very sad it is an amazing place and they do so much for our wonderful feathered friends, who is going to look after them now!
