We were caught unawares overnight last week by quite a heavy snowfall, so now we’ll have to see whether the tree ferm will be okay – not having had time to wrap it in its winter fleece. We’re told they can handle fairly cold weather, so let’s see. I took the first photo quite early in the morning and then later a poor dejected pigeon came looking for the bird feeder.

crumbs! that is a lot of snow! is that the dejected pigeon’s footprints in the first pic?
yes in the first pic. i do love the first footprints after a snowfall – excepting maybe if they’re a Yeti’s : ) very thick snow for the SE this year – and in November. Brrr.
Wow -this is crazy! your fern looks like a christmas tree. at least its had a year to acclimatize.
