This is our second permaculture bed, raised off the ground and constructed with sheet mulching. Mol-d will be posting a step-by-step guide to setting one up so I won’t go into any details, but allow me to introduce the plants.

Asparagoose
This is the first time I’ve grown asparagus and its a very pretty plant. We’re still waiting for our first crop but the leaves are very beautiful to look at while we wait, particularly on a rainy day.
Strange Fruit
We have had a request to identify the tree below (see pics). The query comes from Teresa, who says:
“Hi,
I would just like to try and find out what kind of tree this is….a friend wants to know, as she has horses on her property and wants to make sure that it is not dangerous to them?
I hope you will able to figure out from these pics..
Thank you!
Teresa ”
Fynbos flowers, unusual colours
This fynbos plant has remarkable colouring. The leaves are a blue-grey and its flowers go from a purple to a lovely brown. Again, I forgot to keep the name of it so if anyone recognises it please let me know. Although it looks like it wouldn’t do so well in Durbs, it is thriving in my garden.
