World Cup Trees

As I’m sure everyone is well aware, the 2010 Fifa World Cup is in full swing in South Africa. I’n happy to say we, as a country, are really supportive of the event and, in an unusual show of national pride, are flying South African flags. Houses, cars, shops and restaurants are festooned with flags and, as the pics below show, even the trees are getting into the spirit.

Happy 2010!

Happy New Year everybody!  2010 is the year when all eyes turn to South Africa as we host the soccer World Cup.  Lets hope some of those visitors take the time to explore our beautiful country and see the unique plants, gardens and nature reserves we have.

In keeping with the spirit of 2010, I would like to draw attention to some amazing photographs, taken by Clint Strydom, of township soccer fields and players.  The series is titled ‘Real Heroes’ and you can read more about it and Clint at 10and5.com.
