WANTED: Syringa planks in bulk

I am interested in obtaining Syringa planks in bulk. Would you be able to supply planks in bulk or alternatively provide me with names of some suppliers? Syringa is great wood but alas supplies in Gauteng are scarce. Your help would be greatly appeciated.

Tks,

Graham

    Hi Graham,

I am interested to know what you might do with the planks? There are an abundance of syringas in Durban, in fact, they are a real nuisance! My brother and I have been trying to eradicate them from our parents’ garden.

But discussions on what to do with them, including making furniture etc. led to a dead end:

    Won’t the wood warp?

Melia azederach or Syringa, is a category 3 invader which out competes native plants in the forest and savannah. Aren’t people trying to get rid of these in SA? See link below for more info.
