Help Wanted with Egyptian Geese

Does anyone know how to keep Egyptian Geese from eating seedlings (especially lettuce seedlings)? A friend has a farm in KZN and is battling a pair of Egyptian Geese who are happily munching all his gardening efforts. The veggie patch is on a large plot of land near an open wetland and conservancy so restricting access to water is not really an option and it would be great if the veggie patch did not need to be covered.

Any/ all suggestions most welcome!

Thanks thanks,

Nadia

You could try finding a large rambling rose which needs pruning, chop off lots of dead branches and lay these in between the seedlings. That will keep most pests a safe distance away. If that’s not an option, try old CD’s hung on nearby branches, birds are scared of the flashing light and movement.
