The fighting birds

We were down at the beachfront today and this pair of mynah birds was fighting another pair of mynah birds. Is this strange behaviour for these birds?

They didn’t even care that a crowd had gathered to watch them!

    These pictures are incredible; I’ve never seen birds do this before. My wife and I were on a bird watching safari in Africa and we never saw anything like this. We did see over 60 different birds’, which was said to be a rather poor total considering professional bird watchers tend to spot around 100, but we didn’t mind we had such an incredible time. Thank you for sharing these pictures.

    We were at a friend’s home yesterday for lunch and sitting on the verandah, when we saw birds attacking monkeys who were pinching the paw-paws off the tree.
    The monkey was hanging on with one arm and whacking the birds with the other.
