Very seldom do I ever see anything Christmas-related without shuddering. These living ornaments, however, are very much the exception to this somewhat grinch-like rule. Made by the marvelously-named Flora Grubb, an American florist, they are real succulent plants repurposed as bio-ornaments for hanging on a Christmas Tree.
Her website http://shop.floragrubb.com/succulent-ornament-single/ enthuses:
These amazing cuttings will last for weeks – sometimes even sprouting tiny roots while hanging on the tree. When the holiday is over, remove the cutting and plant it. With care, the succulent will flourish in your garden or on your windowsill. Next year, harvest new cuttings for your ornament.
What I like about these is that they are aesthetically quite striking, but also green in the truest sense of the word. You could make them yourself for the full eco-experience, but I think as far as Christmas décor goes, these are something you can buy guilt-free.
