French Tomatoes

We’ve recently returned from an excellent trip to France, where I took loads of photographs of plants and produce (I’ll add some more posts in the next couple of weeks).

We stayed in the south, near a town called Rousillon. The weather was superb, the people great and the food was unbelievable. Here is a picture of some crazy, delicious tomatoes. They come in red, yellow, purple, black and zebra varieties and taste (I’m sorry to report) so much better than poor ol’ South African tomatoes. We ate them straight up, in multicoloured salads and one night my brother even made a raw sauce out of them for a pasta.

I’m keen to grow them in my garden in Durban. Has anyone tried growing them before? Where can I get the seeds from?
