Just an update from our veggie patch in the Republic of Hout Bay…the recent rains have been kind!

The strawberries are coming up roses…

The runner beans are heading up their poles…

Baby beetroots have just popped out of the soil…

Baby cabbages almost toddlers now…

Broccoli is going pretty nuts…

And there’s the whole bed from the front.

No bugs yet touch wood; going to harvest a bunch of stuff in 2 weeks.

Good week, greenies!

looking great!! it is so weird… in durban (where everything else grows), our broccoli and cabbages had a tough time and kept on getting eaten by bugs…

Does anyone here grow tumeric? My brother in Jhb (I live in tropical Australia) would like to try some in a hothouse. He has seen mine on my blog and now wants to grow it. I cant send any from here, anyone know where he can get some? I am sure you must be able to grow it in Durban.
