Unidentified purple flowers

Hello,

I snapped these unidentified purple flowers. Does anyone know what they are? I think they are indigenous to South Africa.

    Hi 🙂

This is Hypoestes aristata; commonly called a ‘Ribbon bush’. Here’s some more detail: http://www.plantzafrica.com/planthij/hypoestesaristat.htm

Also available in White. The books say you can eat it, like spinach, but I haven’t tried ;>)
