Very cool tree! I vaguely remember being told once on a bush drive that those thorns on the trunk are used by traditional healers …

This is the coolest tree – it is called a kapoc tree – my neighbours have one, it gets the most gorgeous pink flowers in summer & then the leaves fall off & it just has those massive green avo looking pods in winter, in spring they burst open and turn into huge white cotton wool balls!! The “cotton wool” is the kapoc that is used as a filling for cushions etc…… – just dont plant one near your pool as they are VERY messy!!

Thanks for the added info – cool and useful! My neighbour makes stuffed toys. I’ll suggest she trys this filler as a natural and green stuffing.
